This piece is the visual antonym of INTO THE VOID. They serve as a diptych piece balancing out the Yin and Yang of my tumultuous emotional swing within the space of 7 days!
I painted this in a similar synaesthesia-induced state to its sister painting.
The motivation was simple... I was in a deep state of artistic FLOW.
This painting ...FLOW is the physical manifestation of exactly how I felt.
Exactly 7 days after I felt like I was going INTO THE VOID.
This painting is a celebration of freedom!
Stylistically, I have stuck with my painterly style that I repeatedly use on my acrylic pieces, layering the paint on thick, with a deliberate intention to leave it looking wet.
…further invoking the feeling of ‘FLOW’ when observing the painting.
I have allowed the paints to mix freely on the wooden board, trying very little to control how they work together, contrast or sync to form new shades.
This exploration of flow is a happy expression of beauty, freedom and self-acceptance... acceptance that whatever path I am on right now is the right one.
