As an artist studying the human condition, I have several questions about motives... the good and the bad.
One of the many art series I have been working on for a couple of years now titled #TheDarkness explores iconic movie villains in still moments captured and recreated ... one iconic shot capturing their essence, their character... memorialised in my unique mixed media style of paint, charcoal, ink and acrylic.
What makes "dark" characters Dark?
Can I capture that essence in a painting?
As I have searched through this process, I have also tried to represent #thedarkness with darker and darker pigments of black, in whatever media i can lay my hands on (this is actually what led me to start doing art in all of these media at once).
....ladies & gents... I've found it!
This paint is so dark it absorbs almost all the light around it.
It is PERFECT for this art series!!!
I was so excited playing with this over the weekend, and here I present to you, a masterpiece I began three years ago,
...and have finally been able to complete!
