One of the core motivations behind this piece is the issue of climate change and the climate crisis.
We are now at a stage in humanity where us humans have caused irreversible damage to our planet …our only home.
We have been grossly irresponsible.
We really need to flip our perspectives to really understand.
This is the one home we’ve got.
It will be here beyond us… despite our adverse actions.

This work shows a view of the earth as seen from the surface of the moon.
It is painted based on an actual visual reference captured by NASA astronauts, (specifically the crew of Apollo 8), on December 24, 1986 of the surface of the moon and the rising earth in the background while in lunar orbit.
Stylistically inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s impasto technique.
In this delicate piece, there are subtly layers of swirls a la Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’ in the layered acrylic and charcoal moon surface.
