£1,110.00

Mixed Media - Graphite, Charcoal, Acrylic, Candle Wax, Ink on Paper

53.3 x 53.3 x 30 cm

"Agent of Chaos" is the 3rd in an art series by Paulie X, where Paulie explores the intriguing and often misunderstood trope of the villain, through classic movie villains as the subject.
As an avid lifelong learner, Paulie has always been intrigued by the concepts of "good" and "truth" and what makes "dark" characters Dark.

Portrayed in this painting is the legendary actor, Heath Ledger in his portrayal of the infamous DC Comics character - The Joker.
When watching this movie directed by Christopher Nolan -- it becomes clear to the astute viewer and observer, that while the Batman and Commissioner Gordon are right and even Harvey Dent too,

the Joker is also right --- in his own dark, twisted way.

He is just another dreamer, fighting for truth.... his truth.... his version of "the" truth!

As a delve into psychology, this complex villain and several other, begin to unpeel the layers, (usually foreign to most of us all), that make up a villain.

We start to realise, that villains, are driven almost (and sometimes) to the point of madness, — and always by their core goal and ethos.

What they believe to be "right".

In the words of the Joker...

"All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That's how far the world is away from where I am. Just one bad day"

--- Heath Ledger’s The Joker,

from Alan Moore
